A tank ride as a gift? Absolutely!

A tank is a heavily armored combat vehicle equipped with tracks, a rotating turret, and a cannon — designed to destroy enemy ground forces. Despite their power, tanks aren’t built for continuous battle and require frequent maintenance, fuel, and ammunition. The tracked system — also known as the caterpillar track — was first conceptualized in 1770 by Richard Edgeworth, though the original idea of a tank is credited to Leonardo da Vinci.

The term “tank” comes from the secret development name used during WWI, where tanks were first deployed to break through trench warfare. They struck fear into soldiers — sometimes just the appearance of a tank on the battlefield was enough to make entire units retreat. During WWII, full-scale tank battles took place, and these vehicles evolved into far more effective war machines. A tank ride today is the perfect adrenaline-fueled gift for military enthusiasts, history buffs, or anyone craving a one-of-a-kind driving experience.

Types of tanks

Tanks are classified by weight — and thus by armor and firepower — into light, medium, and heavy categories. Fun fact: Two of the most iconic medium tanks in history are the American M4 Sherman and the Soviet T-34. If you’ve played war video games or seen WWII films, you’ve probably encountered both. Riding in one of these legendary machines is a thrilling experience in itself.

What’s the ride like?

Driving a tank is surprisingly simple — it just takes a bit of courage. The hardest part is climbing inside! An instructor will walk you through the controls, and you can choose to ride as a passenger or take the wheel yourself. Tanks don’t have a steering wheel; instead, you control them using two levers — one for each track. Ready to feel like a real tank commander?

Where do the rides take place?

You’ll ride on a tank training field — also known as a tank range. These areas are designed specifically for military vehicle testing, so you won’t be putting anyone in danger. Rain or shine, you'll get the full-on extreme driving experience. In the past, tank driving was part of mandatory military training. If you missed that chance, now’s your time to relive the feeling — without the boot camp.

A tank ride is truly unforgettable

Whether you want to enjoy it yourself or gift it to someone who dreams of commanding an armored giant, this experience is something they'll never forget. Your instructor will take care of everything — you just sit back, hold tight, and soak in the adrenaline and excitement.

Gather your courage, climb into a beast of steel, and feel the raw power of a real battle machine!
