Fratarica – canyoning adventure in Slovenia

Fratarica is a well-known canyon in the Soča Valley that offers a full-on canyoning experience. It’s perfect for adventurous spirits and nature lovers. Compared to Sušec, Fratarica is larger and more challenging — the highest waterfall is almost 50 meters! You’ll find it in Triglav National Park, near Log pod Mangartom, right in the heart of the Julian Alps.

Experience details:

We’ll meet at our base in Bovec, where you’ll get all the instructions and gear: wetsuit, neoprene socks, professional canyoning shoes, helmet, and harness. Then we’ll hop in the cars and drive about 15 minutes to the canyon. There we’ll change into swimwear, grab the gear, and begin the 30–40 minute uphill hike.

At the top, we’ll suit up, do a short safety briefing and then it’s go-time — straight into the canyon! From there, it’s all fun: sliding, jumping, rappelling down waterfalls. The whole adventure through the canyon takes 2–3 hours, depending on group size and pace. Your dry clothes will be waiting in the parking lot at the bottom where we finish up.
