The word massage comes from the Greek word "massō", which translates as "to hold, touch, or work with hands." Archaeological evidence of massages dates back to 2330 BC and spans across ancient civilizations including China, India, Japan, Korea, Egypt, Rome, Greece, and Mesopotamia. Classic massages are used to relieve pain, ease tension, improve blood circulation, treat stiff muscles and sore joints, relax the body, and restore mental balance.
If you've already tried Chinese or Thai massage and you're curious to experience something new and unusual, here are some ideas to explore. Join us and discover them!
Aromatherapy Massage
This type of massage uses different kinds of essential oils. Before the session begins, one or two essences are chosen and mixed into a carrier oil. Since essential oils are fat-soluble, they are easily absorbed through the skin.
It is characterized by slow, gentle massage movements and has beneficial effects on the nervous system. A typical session lasts between 30 and 90 minutes. Aromatherapy massage lowers blood pressure, relieves muscle tension, reduces stress, stimulates blood and lymph circulation, and benefits skin health. However, this type of massage is not recommended during flu, inflammatory conditions, burns, or swelling. It’s a very pleasant way to relax both physically and mentally.

Hot Stone Massage
This massage uses the natural properties of volcanic stones. These are smooth, flat, heated stones placed on key points of the body. Today, stones are mainly imported from Southeast Asia, China, Hawaii, and India.
Before the massage begins, the stones are heated in water at 52-54°C. Once warmed, they are placed on specific body parts (back, arms) and used to massage stiff muscles.

Honey Massage
The healing benefits of honey have been known for thousands of years. Thanks to the strong effects of honey combined with proper compression massage techniques, clogged pores are cleansed and the skin is stimulated.
Honey massage is typically performed on the patient’s back, as this area contains the highest concentration of reflex zones, helping to eliminate toxins from the body. This massage is ideal during spring detoxes, when feeling fatigued, or for chronic and lifestyle-related illnesses. However, it’s not recommended for pregnant women and those with honey allergies should avoid it.

Chocolate Massage
Chocolate is rich in antioxidants, helps fight cellulite, hydrates and smooths the skin, improves its appearance, stimulates the vascular system in the skin, and has a positive effect on heart function.
It also removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and silky. The chocolate wrap is applied over the entire body, and the procedure usually lasts between 60 to 75 minutes.
There are many other fascinating types of massages that we’ll explore together next time. Have you ever heard of a beer massage or a rose petal massage?
